When educating patients about outpatient Total Joint Replacement (TJR), the surgeons and team at OSI have it down to a science. Patients can expect phone calls from the surgeon, their staff and the anesthesiologist to learn about the surgery and what to expect pre- and post-op. All patients will be scheduled for an educational class so that they and their primary caretaker are aware of the surgery details including the recovery time and the physical therapy needed after. The operation takes approximately 60-90 minutes and patients are up and walking very quickly after their procedure. OSI was built specifically for TJR and spine procedures, including wider hallways to accommodate post-surgery physical therapy.
